ABE Resources Inc. (TSX.V: ABE) (the "Company" or "ABE") is pleased to announce that it has appointed Ms Nancy Lacoursière as its Interim Chief Financial Officer, effective November 10th, 2016. Ms Lacoursière holds a BA in Accounting from UQAT (the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue). She has over 17 years of experience in accounting, including 9 years at an accounting firm and 8 years in the mining industry. Nancy is currently the Interim CFO for Cartier Resources and has been ABE's consulting accountant for the past three years.
The Company is also pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Paul Bonneville, P.Eng. as a Director of the Company. Mr. Bonneville has over 30 years of experience in the mining industry in Canada. He is a Mining Engineering graduate from Queen's University and was VP Operations for Scorpio Mining and VP Mines for Cadiscor Resources. He worked for Dumas Contracting as Project Manager at the Lapa and Goldex shaft projects and for Ross-Finlay Ltd., where he held a range of positions, including Project Manager at the Bell-Allard shaft project, the Silidor project, and at a Pan American Silver Corp. project. Mr. Bonneville has also managed a number of overseas operations.
The Company is also very sad to announce the sudden death in August 2016 in La Sarre, Québec of Mr. Fred Burrows, a Director of the Company since 2005 and the Chairman of its Audit committee. A native of Chapleau, Ontario, Mr. Burrows had joined ABE's board after a very successful career as a senior executive in the forestry industry in northern Québec and Ontario. Fred was very well liked and respected by all those who knew him and will be sorely missed.
