Exploring For World Class Copper-Gold Deposits w/ Robert Friedland in Colombia
Cordoba Minerals (TSX.V: CDB / OTCQX: CDBMF) is exploring for world class copper-gold deposits in the prolific Mid Cauca belt of Colombia. The Company has joint ventured with HPX Inc., a company indirectly controlled by renowned mining entrepreneur Robert Friedland, to explore and develop the 20,000 hectare Santa Matias project. The joint venture is aggressively drilling multiple high-priority geophysical targets and recently announced an initial N.I. 43-101 mineral resource estimate for the Alacran copper-gold deposit that outlined 53.52 million tonnes grading 0.95% copper equivalent.
- Alacran Copper-Gold Deposit: Advanced stage exploration project focused on delineating and expanding the known resource, which is currently 1.3 kilometers in strike, up to 250 metres in lateral width and remains open in all directions
- District-Scale Potential: Three 13 kilometer mineralized trends identified to date; host to both porphyry and skarn copper-gold targets
- Location and Infrastructure: Located just 30 kilometers from two large operating open-pit mines; regional access to paved roads, skilled labour and electricity
- Experienced Board and Management: Proven leadership team with extensive history of advancing early-stage exploration projects into producing mines
- Joint Venture Partner: HPX Inc. is funding exploration, utilizing proprietary geophysical technology to identify district targets, and carrying project through feasibility in exchange for a 65% interest; Phase III of JV initiated November 2016
- Consolidating A Regional Land Position: Acquiring an additional 250,000 adjacent hectares to further utilize HPX’s proprietary induced polarization technology and identify new copper-gold targets
Alacran Copper-Gold Deposit
Cordoba's flagship Alacran copper-gold skarn deposit hosts an N.I. 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimate. Drilling to date has outlined potential for a large, bulk tonnage copper-gold deposit located near surface and amenable to open-pit mining. Step out drilling also indicates that the lateral extent of the deposit may be much larger than previously suggested, leaving significant room for resource expansion.
